WPA invites pork producers and veterinarians in Northwest Wisconsin to an informational meeting to be held on April 5 at the Stout Ale House in Menomonie to share information about Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory (PRRS) Virus. The meeting will start at 11:30 a.m. and will include lunch. Producers will have an opportunity to interact with WPA personnel and veterinarians throughout the program with topics focused on the disease, biosecurity and results from other Midwest states.
Rope tests will be provided at the meeting in Menomonie, which offer farmers a way to test for PRRS presence on their farm. The ropes are simply hung in various pens in a barn, saliva is collected and frozen, and then the sample is submitted for testing. WPA will provide rope tests and pay for submission to the diagnostic laboratory.
